About the Like A Girl project

25.11.15

Since I started the Like A Girl project I’ve received lots of questions about the project, where it’s headed and where the idea came from. Hopefully this will answer some of the more frequently asked questions. Make sure to let me know if you want to know more.
What's the aim of the project?
The aim of 'Like A Girl' is to connect, inspire, and encourage women around the world by sharing the stories of fellow female professionals, creators, businesswomen, innovators, entrepreneurs and artists.
Why did you start the project?
I was spurred on by my love for talking and connecting with people. I had been hoping to start an interview series for some time. However, I was unsure what direction I wanted to take. I believe it was after talking with a friend I decided that I wanted to focus on women doing awesome things. There are so many talented women out there with amazing ideas stories that deserve to be shared. I had initially planned to focus solely on female creatives (photographers, graphic designers, etc.) but I quickly realised how many other amazing woman I also wanted to talk to and I immediately shifted the scope of the project.
Who are you talking to?
Initially I had planned to only focus on female creatives. However, I quickly discovered that I wanted to talk to a much wider variety of women, including journalists, actors and writers. So I have expanded the scope of the project to feature a broader range of women. Right now I have 9 great interviews lined up with some incredible women and 4 more interviews that I am currently working out the details for.
Do have any plans for the project beyond the interviews?
I do have future plans and ideas for the project, I am not yet sure of the logistics or what the plans will entail. I am really excited by the possibilities, but nothing is set in stone yet.
Can I be interviewed?
At this stage I'm mainly reaching out to people for interviews. However, please feel free to send me an email with a little bit about yourself and what you do and we can work from there. You can see all the interviews in the Like A Girl series here.
